Pouvoir belongs to the 3rd group of French verbs. In English, pouvoir means “can,” “to be able to,” or “may.”

Futur proche is the equivalent of “going to (do something)” in English
Passé récent is the equivalent of “just (did something)” in English
Présent progressif is the equivalent of “doing something (right now)” or being “in the process of doing something” in English
Futur imminent is the equivalent of “about to (do something)” in English

Note: you can also use these in the past by conjugating aller, venir, and être in imparfait instead of présent.
